1. Kings Park Botanic Garden
One of my favorite parts of Kings Park is the lookouts that frame the city skyline and Swan River. These spots create stunning backdrops that instantly feel like Perth. If you’re planning an engagement or pre-wedding session, these views bring a sense of romance and elegance to your photos.
When I think about locations that truly showcase Perth’s beauty, Kings Park & Botanic Garden always comes to mind. It’s one of the most iconic spots in the city—and for good reason. From sweeping views of the skyline to serene green spaces, this location offers a perfect balance of urban and natural beauty.

Kings Park also features beautiful tree-lined paths that add softness and depth to your gallery. I often like to mix wide shots with the skyline and closer portraits among the greenery—it creates a diverse collection of images without needing to travel far.
Early morning is ideal here. The light is soft and flattering, the skies are bright and blue, and the greenery looks fresh and vibrant. Plus, you’ll avoid the crowds, making it easier to capture those intimate moments.
2.Fremantle
If you love locations with character, Fremantle is the perfect choice for your photoshoot. Every time I shoot here, I’m amazed at how versatile it is—heritage architecture, cobblestone paths, colorful murals, and a relaxed coastal vibe all in one place.
One of my favorite things about Fremantle is its ability to tell a story in every frame. If you’re dreaming of a romantic engagement session, the limestone buildings and rustic streets create a timeless backdrop. For something more fun and casual, the vibrant laneways filled with street art bring color and personality to your photos.
Fremantle is also home to beautiful open spaces and waterfront areas, so we can mix urban and natural elements in one session. It’s perfect for couples who want a unique look or families who prefer something a little different from the usual park or beach.

3.Cottesloe Beach-Golden Sands & Iconic Perth Sunset
When it comes to beach photography, Cottesloe is a true classic. Its combination of golden sands, turquoise waters, and stunning sunsets makes it one of Perth’s most iconic locations for photoshoots. Whether it’s an engagement session, a romantic pre-wedding shoot, or a relaxed family session, Cottesloe Beach offers a dreamy coastal backdrop that never goes out of style.
One of my favorite things about shooting at Cottesloe is the variety it offers. From the long stretch of soft sand to the charming Norfolk pine trees, every corner is picture-perfect. And of course, we can’t forget the iconic Indiana Tea House, a landmark that adds a touch of character to your shots.
For the softest light and those magical tones, sunset is the winner at Cottesloe. The golden hour glow paired with the Indian Ocean makes for breathtaking photos. Early morning also works well for softer light and fewer crowds.

4. University of Western Australia (UWA) – Heritage Meets Nature
The University of Western Australia is a hidden gem for photography lovers. Its heritage buildings, grand arches, and manicured gardens provide a classic and elegant backdrop that feels timeless. This location is perfect for engagement or pre-wedding shoots, adding a romantic and sophisticated vibe to your gallery.
What makes UWA special is the balance between history and greenery. The sandstone architecture creates a warm tone, while the Jacaranda trees (especially in bloom) bring bursts of color and charm. You can stroll under the iconic arches or capture intimate moments surrounded by lush gardens

5. Perry’s Paddock – Rustic Charm and Heritage in Woodvale
If you're after a one-of-a-kind location filled with texture, history, and personality, Perry’s Paddock in Woodvale is a gem. Nestled within Yellagonga Regional Park, this spot blends open paddocks, vintage ruins, and woodland beauty—creating a dreamy backdrop that’s perfect for family portraits, engagement sessions, or just something a little different.
What I adore most is the mix of elements: tall grasses, wheel tracks, rustic stables, and Perry’s Cottage—built around the 1850s—all whispering stories of Perth’s past. The contrast between serene paddock landscapes and heritage structures adds real depth and soul to images.
Late afternoon is magical here. Sunlight filtering through the grass and trees bathes the ruins in a gentle, golden glow, giving your photos warmth and texture. Mornings are also excellent—soft light, fresh vibes, and fewer visitors.
